ACD, Copy and Concept at Vivaldi Group

About

Hey, I’m Jake.

This is what I look like.

This is me.

This is my philosophy.

"Bad ideas" are just a lack of imagination.

I don’t mean jumping from a plane without a parachute.
I don't mean letting a toddler drive a Ferarri.
I mean the phrase that often describes ideas that challenge conventional thinking.

We tend to avoid them.
But what if we looked at them differently?

Would a hidden logo help Londoners discover their new favorite bourbon?
Would an indirect call to action compel New Yorkers to switch banks?
Would a disruptive verbal identity position a tech company as the nation’s most trusted leader in AI and cybersecurity?

I imagined they would.
Then they did.

This is my story.

Hey there.

I’m Jake, ACD, Copy and Concept at Vivaldi NYC.

My peer reviews say I’m the guy you invite to the brainstorm when you need an idea that gets people talking.

I don’t know why it says that.

Between you and me, I didn’t start as an ACD.

I started as a guitar player.

Yup, that’s me. Bet you’re wondering how I wound up in this situation.

I studied guitar at The University of the Arts for three years. Come senior year, I made a switch. I got my BS in Music Business Entrepreneurship and Technology. Then I realized I was spending more time writing than making music.

I became a copywriter.

Me, Mariola, and Adam, moments before I read “The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig” to first graders.

I spent the next few years copywriting with Adhouse NYC, Mascola Advertising, Pitney Bowes, Catapult Marketing, and too many freelance clients to mention.

Along the way, I helped a myriad of brands write better and come up with better ideas — including PurePoint Financial, Union Bank, Nestlè Waters, Family Dollar, and Pernod Ricard.

Some of that work is in my book.

Today I’m an ACD, Copy and Concept at Vivaldi NYC.

John, me, Louisa, Lal, Aimee, Sabrina moments before the real happy hour.

Every day my colleagues and I build next-generation businesses and brands. I work somewhere at the intersection of creative, strategy, brand, innovation, and experience — with Anheuser Busch, Current, Booz Allen, Four Roses, Cox Automotive, and more.

In my spare time, I write short stories and work on my debut novel.

I like to do handstands, too.

Now I’m rambling.

I’d love to hear from you.
